What are YouTube chapters?
Chapters divide a longer video into named sections associated with timestamps. A useful chapter list lets viewers understand the structure of a video and jump to the section they want.
The basic workflow is simple: identify important section changes, record their timestamps, give each section a concise title, then format the list consistently.
Start with a timestamp and title for each section
Watch or review the video and note the point where each meaningful section begins. Pair each timestamp with a short title that tells the viewer what that section contains.
Keep the titles descriptive enough to be useful without turning each chapter into a full sentence.
